Professional Counselor, MS Resident in Counseling

Jeff is a Resident Counselor in Virginia and former Navy SEAL with a special interest in working with Trauma and PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem, Work/Life Balance, Personal Growth, Life and Career Changes, Relationship Conflict, Self-Harm, Suicidal Ideation, Family Dynamics, Parenting, Mental Skill Development, and Bipolar/Mood Disorders. Jeff incorporates Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness when working with clients, and has completed training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He also believes that spirituality, defined as a closeness with the self, is an integral component to healing. Jeff earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and holds another Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University. Before entering the counseling profession, Jeff was a leadership coach, government contractor, and author of Navigating Chaos: How To Find Certainty In Uncertain Situations (2nd Edition). Outside of work, Jeff enjoys exercising, teaching self-defense, and chasing his kids around the house while his wife gets tired watching.
