Maddie is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist focusing on supporting SOF individuals, couples and families as they heal trauma, grief, suicidality, and addiction. As the wife of a retired SWCC, she has 27+ years of personal and professional experience with the SOF community, and is knowledgeable about concerns specific to this community, including security clearance, lethal means safety, deployment cycles, TBI/RBE, and transitioning from active duty to civilian, contract or agency life. She offers modalities including trauma therapies (EMDR, FLASH, CPT, ASSYST for recent traumas), moral injury treatment (Adaptive Disclosure), addiction/recovery therapies, grief counseling, preparation and integration for psychedelic therapies, transpersonal approaches to processing mystical and/or near death experiences, and nightmare/dreamwork treatment modalities. Maddie works to support families in building connection and flourishing for each member throughout the SOF active duty and transition out cycles. She additionally enjoys working with couples to increase connection, communication and sexual intimacy. She is a provider with The Headstrong Project. Maddie additionally provides addiction, grief and trauma (EMDR or CPT) counseling to select clients, including SOF community members, while they are in residential addiction treatment (a 30-day program) at The Farley Center in Williamsburg, VA.
